Accounts & Audit Assistant

Location: Winchester

Main purpose of job: To prepare accounts to review stage and/or assist with audits

Responsible to: Managers 

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Accurately prepare accounts from client records for sole traders, partnerships, LLPs and limited companies
  2. Prepare a comprehensive file for manager review, which is complete with lead and supporting schedules and which is neat and tidy
  3. Cope with several accounts preparation jobs at any one time whilst maintaining deadlines
  4. To be familiar with audit procedures & have assisted on audits
  5. Use of Xero, QuickBooks, Sage Line 50, Excel, Word and Outlook
  6. Be proactive in dealing with clients
  7. Record time accurately and keep to budgets
  8. Updating of client profiles on our IRIS system
  9. Attending at client premises where required
  10. Preparation of VAT Returns 
  11. Preparation of CIS Returns
  12. Assisting where necessary with the training of junior staff
