Many of the South’s business owners learned from the experts how to make the most from selling their business at a seminar last week hosted by Rothmans Corporate Finance (RCF) Ltd, at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton.
RCF is a new joint venture between Rothmans Accountants, which has 11 regional offices and is one of the South’s largest and longest-established independent accountancy firms, and Odyssey Corporate Finance, a specialist corporate advisory firm.
During the seminar, RCF Directors, Tom McCarthy and Julian Sims, advised businesses on planning for what will be the biggest sale of their lives, including strategies to increase business’ value, evaluating and choosing exit options, tax planning, avoiding common pitfalls and deal structuring.
Managing Partner of Rothmans Accountants, Martin Osborne, said: “We were delighted that such a large number of the South’s business owners from a wide range of sectors attended this seminar. It was the first in a series of events that will provide firms with expert financial advice when they are considering buying, selling or merging companies, or looking at other areas including acquisitions, management buy-outs, restructuring and refinancing.”
Tom McCarthy commented: “Our new joint venture formalises an arrangement that has existed for a number of years. The shared values, approach and expertise of Rothmans and Odyssey mean that businesses are able to access a comprehensive service from a specialist team with decades of experience who have completed hundreds of deals worth more than £3 billion.”
