Rothmans, one of the South’s largest accountancy firms, recently teamed up with regional law firm, Verisona, to present an employment law and tax update seminar for businesses.
Departing directors, golden parachutes, dads on paternity leave, changes in employment law and pensions, tax saving strategies and new tax benefits – just some of the areas affected by recent and increasingly complex legislation that were selected as subjects for a room filled with delegates, ranging from owner-managed companies and HR professionals, to representatives from large corporate organisations.
“This was a great opportunity to give busy people important information in just three hours on the main new and emerging issues,” said Martin Osborne, a partner at Rothmans who presented at the event.
“Employment law and tax may not be subjects that people want to spend a lot of time and energy on, but in the current economic climate, knowing how to make the most of tax benefits and ensuring that your business stays legally compliant is vital.”
Jacky Sparks from Portsmouth Communications, who attended the event, said, “This was an insightful seminar and I came away feeling I’d learned a great deal about the impact that current and future tax and employment law changes could have for my business.”
