The facts about auto-enrolment
By 2018 every employer will have to enrol all eligible employees into a qualifying pension scheme or potentially face fines of up to £10,000 per day. The initial wave of auto-enrolment has begun, with the largest businesses – those with more than 120,000 employees – starting first. Smaller firms will have to enrol their employees over the next five years.

This seminar will enable employers to better understand their auto-enrolment obligations and provide some advice on how to create a successful auto-enrolment strategy. Employers will also have the chance to share their concerns about how the changes will affect their business as well as hear the practical experience of a local employer that has been using NEST on a voluntary basis.

Key speakers:
David Yeandle OBE
was one of three experts appointed by the Government to undertake an independent review of automatic enrolment as part of its pensions reform programme. In this seminar, David will explain how auto-enrolment fits into the Government’s comprehensive reform of the UK’s pensions system and the thinking behind the recommendations in the independent experts’ report which have been accepted and implemented by the Government.

Paul Stovold represents the National Employment Savings Trust (NEST) and he will be explaining how NEST works and how it can provide an auto-enrolment solution for employers as well as providing an insight into the broader issues that employers can encounter.
