This month Ofsted launched its new online tool designed to support governors to hold their schools to account. The School Data Dashboard aims to provide a simple, publicly available overview on a single page of how effectively a school is compared to other schools. The dashboards are driven by the same data as RAISEonline. The arguments for and against league tables are well documented and just as relevant here. It is important schools and Governors are aware of the contents of the dashboards as they are publically available. It is also clear that schools will need to review the accuracy of the data and request amendments as appropriate. Ofsted will publish a dashboard for over 20,000 mainstream primary and secondary schools. The new dashboards will be updated every year.
